The Coalition Assembly
The Assembly is made up of people and organisations who are actively pursuing Coalition principles and activities: in their local areas; on particular issues or sectors; or on central activities. Anyone can be part of the Assembly, as long as they are actively engaged in work that supports Coalition aims and are introduced by an existing Assembly member. The Assembly does not make decisions. It:
- acts as a sounding board and source of advice on the direction, activities and shape of the Coalition
- raises and debates the issues affecting the Coalition
- acts as “ears to the ground” , promotes Coalition interests, keeps each other informed of what’s going on and who’s doing what
- provides contacts for activities going on locally, on particular issues or centrally
- provides support for members of the group in their activities.
The Assembly meets 3 times a year. Participants of the Assembly are invited to meetings of the Coalition Planning Group and can request any Planning Group papers.
